Before a word is on my tongue you, LORD, know it completely.
— Psalm 139:4
Who Are We?
We are the people of God, made God’s sons and daughters through our holy baptisms and joined together in one family in this church!
What Brings Us Together?
We come from different ethnic and religious backgrounds, with different strengths and gifts- yet, God unites us into one body with Christ who is the head of all our different parts. We are a people who are loved, redeemed and forgiven by our Lord…
What’s a Lutheran?
Lutherans believe in the Triune God.
God created and loves all of creation — the earth and the seas and all of the world’s inhabitants. We believe that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life, and we trust that God’s Spirit is active in the world.
We are part of God’s unfolding plan. When we gather for worship, we connect with believers everywhere. When we study the Bible or hear God’s word in worship, we are drawn more deeply into God’s own saving story.
The convictions shared by Christians from many different traditions are expressed in statements of belief called creeds.
These ecumenical creeds that Lutherans affirm and use in worship confess the faith of the church through the ages and around the world.
What are we about?
As people of God, we join together in worship and in loving service to one another. We join in prayer and thanksgiving for all the benefits we receive from God’s goodness, and intercede for one another. Our Lord Jesus is the focus of who we are and what we do as Christians; and our worship is a reflection of our identity and service. We are nourished at the alter through Christ Himself, who is that one heavenly food, and strengthened by it for service to one another and the world! We join together to accomplish the work of God’s church in many different ways; Christian education and enrichment, fellowship functions and special worship programs, and through local & global outreach. In addition, we use our individual talents to serve in other helping capacities to see that the work of God’s kingdom is continued in our church, in the community, and in the Church at large.
We are people of God, who come together in this place- called by our Lord, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and sent to one another and the world. We are God’s ministering servants, made His beloved children through his grace, and connected with the faithful of every time and place, as together we walk with Jesus. May we remain faithful to the Lord and the Church, as together we go about furthering the kingdom of God in Jesus’ name…
Amen!
